Chap Goh May - Symbols

Fifteen days after the Chinese New Year, Chap Goh May is a day celebrated as marking the end of Chinese New Year celebrations.

Chap Goh May festival is celebrated by holding a prayer ceremony on a large scale, where large to burn joss sticks and also held a large meal with family. Burned and fireworks lit lanterns to celebrate Chap Goh May

Chap Goh May also be considered as a night looking for couples in which the girls will be dressed in a beautiful and well visited temples to pray for a couple butabara.

There is also the practice of throwing oranges into the sea, praying for a mate. The fresh citrus fruit to bring order to their getting the right partner.

Chinese cultural performances will be held at night to mark the celebration of Chap Goh May as the procession of lanterns, a dragon or lion dance, Chinese opera, and offset a big flag "Chingay".
