The Porcine Small Cherry

Porcine small cherry (Coronopus Didymus) is an unpleasant smelling, perennial, creeper which belongs to the finial family (Brassicaceae). The species originates from South America. The plant is widespread throughout Europe. The number of chromosomes is 2 = 32.

The plant is 8-40 cm high, has a taproot and scattered, 4-5 cm long and 2 cm wide, spring-part leaves, the lobes are incised on the front.

Small pigs cherry blossoms from May to September to 2 mm wide, creamy white to green flowers, whose petals awl-shaped and are slightly shorter than the calyx. The florets are in a cluster up to 4 cm long. Besides the two stamens are four staminodiƫn, on either side of the stamens are. Between the stamens and nectaries staminodiƫn are very small. The stamp is sitting.

The smooth hauwtjes are 1.5-2 mm long, 3-4 mm wide at the top cut. The fruit contains two seeds.

Small pigs cherry occurs on open, rich soil and is considered weeds if it is in farmland, gardens and between paving.
